The self-audit and planning process is central to the Global Network concept.
- It provides a robust process for members to assess their performance against the Global Standards and plan for ongoing systematic improvement.
- It also provides a means of benchmarking with other health services.
So how does it work?
- New members complete an initial self-audit as part of the application process. Members submit their self-audit at least every two years to maintain their network membership.
- Members are encouraged to repeat the self-audit at least every two years to develop their implementation strategy and annual plans. The audit template includes a planning section to facilitate this.
- The Coordinating Centre reviews each audit and provides feedback.
- Members are offered the opportunity to present their self-audit at a network meeting in order to gain input from their peers and raise issues that they would like assistance with.
- The Coordinating Centre collates bi-annual audit data and shares with network members to facilitate benchmarking.
- Members may choose to have their self-audit independently validated through the VNSHS Regional Validation Program.
